Phoenix Racing Team prepares for the Baja
1000
The drawing for starting positions in
the upcoming Baja 1000 race drew a record 19 entries for the highly competitive
SCORE Trophy Truck class.
Phoenix Racing Team drew the 13th starting slot, a favorable
position that will allow the team drivers to pace themselves and avoid the
congestion that normally takes place with the front starting vehicles.
This year the infamous
Baja 1000 will start the morning of November 21st in beautiful Ensenada and
wind down the peninsula to the gulf city of La Paz, a course of more than 1000
miles that will severally test both the vehicle and occupants and is expected
to take over 20 hours to complete.
Las Vegas' Brendan Gaughan, who is the top rookie in
this year's NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, will co-drive with Roger Gray,
Cupertino, Calif., in the No. 21 Phoenix Racing Chevy Silverado SCORE
Trophy-Truck.
