Phoenix Racing Team prepares for Baja
500
The drawing for starting positions in
the upcoming Baja 500 race drew an exciting and very professional 19 entries
for the highly competitive SCORE Trophy Truck class. Phoenix Racing Team drew
the 2nd starting slot, a favorable position that will allow the team drivers to
pace themselves and avoid the congestion that normally takes place with the
front starting vehicle.
This year the infamous Baja 500 will start the morning of June 5th
in beautiful downtown Ensenada. The course winds across the peninsula to the
village of Valle de Trinidad, south to Mike's Sky Rancho, west through Rancho
Meling to the Pacific coast, north to beautiful Santo Tomas, back through Tres
Hermanos and Osos Negros, then on to the finish at Ensenada. This is a course
that will severely test both the vehicle and occupants and is expected to take
over 10 hours to complete.
Roger Gray of
Cupertino, California, will drive the entire race himself in the No. 21 Phoenix
Racing 2004 Chevy Silverado SCORE Trophy-Truck.
We wish to thank all our sponsors who
support the team: Beko Radiator; Borla Exhaust Systems; Drive Line Service of
San Jose; ELTA Industries; Globalstar Satellite Phones; Goodyear Tire; Hella
